We are continuing to prepare the A361 in Chipping Warden for realignment of the highway over the Chipping Warden Green Tunnel. In January we are carrying out trial holes to identify the utilities along the A361 near to the HS2 Chipping Warden Compound, just north of the village. A section of the A361 will have traffic management for one week, incorporating the EKFB compound entrance, to complete this work. From Monday 22 January to Friday 26 January 2024, for 24-hours a day.

This well produced document was prepared and introduced in 2011 by a dedicated team of Parish Councillors and village volunteers co-opted into a sub-Committee of the Parish Council.
It was adopted by West Northamptonshire Council (previously South Northants) as an official supplementary planning document. It has been generally well received by the planning Authorities and is still a primary planning document taken into account whenever planning applications are made within the Village and allows authoritative local input to the West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan.
This strategic plan is currently under review by the West Northants Unitary council and as mentioned, our own document is now 12 years old and consequently the Parish Council has decided it is time to review and update the VDS to allow it to continue to protect the Village from inappropriate development and potential loss of its open spaces and views, but also to give guidance on future development.
To enable us to undertake this task the Parish Council is asking you the residents to:
The Council has selected myself, Jonathan Walker, and Howard Carter to sit on this committee, but we really would welcome input from interested parties from the Village to enable this to move forward in a constructive, inclusive, and transparent way.
Please consider volunteering to assist with this crucial task and contact me directly at:

HS2 UPDATE: Notice of road closure, Wormleighton Road, Boddington
UPDATE: A section of both Wormleighton Road and Banbury Road will be fully closed, 24-hours a day, from Monday 6 November to early December 2023. In order to minimise the closure period, we have delayed the start date to better coincide with the ongoing highway construction in the area, which has been delayed due to the current weather conditions effecting our progress.

In summary:
In preparation for this work, there will also be some traffic lights on the B4525 next week, near to the Greatworth Park entrance. The traffic lights that you may have seen at various times this summer on the B4425 have avoided the need for a full road closure.

HS2 has posted a work notice to residents in the villages of Greatworth, Sulgrave, Thorpe Mandeville, Culworth and Helmdon. Please fee free to share news of this work, or the digital version of the advance works notice, to your network of contacts.
For those that are interested, please see the link below for HS2’s June newsletter.
