A Message From Our local MP

 

Thank You for Supporting Recent Community Events (Case Ref: ST00781)

 

Dear Parish Council,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for supporting some of the community events I have hosted recently. Over the past few weeks, it has been fantastic to see so many people engaging with initiatives that celebrate and strengthen life in our villages and towns.

In September, I hosted the Daventry Constituency Best Pub 2025 Awards Night at The Arc Cinema in Daventry. The evening celebrated the pubs that sit at the heart of our communities, recognising outstanding food, welcoming gardens, dog friendly spaces and community spirit. Winners included The White Horse, Welton, The Kings Arms, Farthingstone, and The Red Lion, Thornby. A special People’s Praise Award went to The Red Lion in East Haddon. The event was a wonderful way to recognise the places and people that bring us together locally.

Just over a week ago, I held the second Daventry Constituency Agricultural Forum, bringing together farmers, landowners and rural organisations to discuss key issues affecting the agricultural community. The event covered topics ranging from rural crime, including fly-tipping, to mental health in farming and support for family farms. The discussions were insightful and the forum continues to be an important way to ensure local voices are heard and supported.

Both events highlight the strength and vibrancy of our communities, and they would not have been possible without the engagement and support of local people.

Looking ahead, I will be hosting a Young People’s Forum on 7th November in Brixworth. Anyone interested in joining for a casual evening to discuss the issues that matter to them, and to take part in our own version of question time while enjoying some pizza, can email me or their parents at stuart.andrew.mp@parliament.uk
