HS2 UPDATE: Notice of road closure,  Wormleighton Road, Boddington

UPDATE: A section of both Wormleighton Road and Banbury Road will be fully closed, 24-hours a day, from Monday 6 November to early December 2023. In order to minimise the closure period, we have delayed the start date to better coincide with the ongoing highway construction in the area, which has been delayed due to the current weather conditions effecting our progress.

Sulgrave Road Closure – Information

In summary:

  • A section of Sulgrave Road will be closed from 31 July to 31 August 2023, 24-hours a day.
  • From early autumn 2023 HS2 will be opening a new temporary road, known as the ‘Greatworth T’. This new temporary road will keep traffic flowing to villages north of Greatworth, while they build the Greatworth Green Tunnel.
  • HS2 anticipate that the Greatworth T phase 1 will be ready to open in September, but as is normally the case with new roads, it will require a highway inspection, known as a road safety audit, prior to opening.
  • There will be traffic lights on B4525, Welsh Lane from 14 to 23 August 2023.

In preparation for this work, there will also be some traffic lights on the B4525 next week, near to the Greatworth Park entrance. The traffic lights that you may have seen at various times this summer on the B4425 have avoided the need for a full road closure.
