About Eydon

Situated in the South West corner of what is now West Northamptonshire, Eydon is a generally quiet village with a vibrant, close-knit community of around 400 people, many of whom regard Eydon as the hidden jewel in the Northants crown.

The village has an aerial, grid-like structure to its four principal roads and lanes, and the old village centre has been designated a Conservation Area, seeking to retain the structure and the ambience of the local mainly iron-stone dwellings.

Eydon has a number of local interest groups & clubs covering a variety of interests, including walking, local history, cricket, drama, and the Eydon Ladies group. There is a traditional local pub, The Royal Oak, a well-run Village Hall that has recently undergone extensive renovations (complete with Superfast Broadband), and a village-owned sports field & pavilion.

Regular village events are often well attended, and the annual Eydon Village Fete attracts visitors from surrounding villages and further afield, while raising significant funds for St Nicholas Church, Eydon Community Sports Field, and Eydon Village Hall.

This website, run by Eydon Parish Council, is designed to give its visitors insight and access to information about what’s happening in and around the area, whether it be local planning issues, safety & security, leisure or indeed anything that is of interest to our community.

We hope you find it useful and informative.
