Invitation to Support the Daventry Constituency Small Business Award (Case Ref: ST00781)

Invitation to Support the Daventry Constituency
Small Business Award (Case Ref: ST00781)

Dear Parish Council,

I hope you are well.

I am writing to invite your support for the Daventry Constituency Small Business Award, which celebrates the fantastic small businesses that make such an important contribution to our community. These awards recognise the entrepreneurs who work hard every day to keep our local economy thriving and provide an opportunity to show our appreciation for their dedication.

Nominations are now open and will close on 5 December. The overall winner, determined by the business receiving the highest number of nominations, will be announced on Small Business Saturday. All businesses that receive a nomination will also be recognised for their contribution to the local community. Full details can be found here: www.stuartandrew.org.uk/daventry-constituency-small-business-award

Taking part is simple. Residents can nominate more than one business, but each business may only be nominated once per person. Nominations can include independent shops, home-based enterprises, market stallholders, mobile service providers, or any other small business that contributes to life in our constituency.

I would be grateful if you could help promote the award within your parish through newsletters, social media www.facebook.com/share/v/17DkWyhRe1/, noticeboards, or word of mouth. I also encourage local councillors to nominate businesses you feel deserve recognition.

Thank you very much for helping celebrate the small businesses that make our communities such vibrant places to live and work. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With best wishes,

Stuart

The Rt. Hon. Stuart Andrew MP
Member of Parliament for the Daventry Constituency

Decision made at Eydon Parish Council on 11 November 2025

Decision made at Eydon Parish Council on 11 November 2025 –

Planning Application – 2025/4225/FULL

Eydon Parish Council objects to the planning application for a detached garage on the site.

The proposal is for a detached double garage sited in the front of the property under construction.
It is the Parish Council view that this proposed garage will have an unacceptable impact on the street scene. It will also be constructed way in front of any building line on this side of the Moreton Road.

The Parish Council wish to also point out that under the planning application for the main house 2024/3534RM the last version withdrew such a garage from the application.

We refer to the minutes of the West Northamptonshire Planning meeting on the 6th March where the reserved matters were decided.

Extracted below :

Minutes of 6 March 2025 planning.

The first mention –

2.2 The scheme proposed a generous four-bedroom house set across two storeys. It initially proposed the erection of a detached garage located forward of the proposed dwelling, which has now been omitted from the scheme.

The second mention –

2.7 Amended plans were submitted reducing the height of the proposed development, and omission of the detached garage to be in keeping with the neighbouring property and street scene.  A Unilateral Undertaking would be completed prior to determination as conditioned in the outline planning permission.

The Third mention –

2.8 As aforementioned, the scheme initially proposed a detached garage located along the front elevation however this element has been omitted.

Recording of meeting –

We would also point out that in the discussion of the original application at around 39 /40 minutes in the recording – Nathan Laude (Development Planning Team Leader) refers to the proposed garage being omitted from the application as the planners had asked for it to be removed as they were concerned about the impact on the street scene of a Detached garage in the site.

So our view is that if it was a concern to the planners then – just 7 months ago and was removed the impact on the street scene is exactly the same now and therefore this new proposal is also unacceptable in its own right. We would add there is no equivalent detached garage anywhere in the Village.

We also contend It will be constructed way in front of any building line on this side of the Moreton
Road.
